IoT Enlightenment

Data has taken on an almost spiritual dimension.  So, it makes sense for leaders to seek out a big data guide and teacher for wisdom, clarity, and insights into the equally big question: What is the most important data?

Like most spiritual quests, we hope to find an actionable answer.  But sometimes, we discover a surprise.

And apparently, we are not alone in this quest.

The original spark for this cartoon came from a  Vince Aurora comment on a Greg Johnson blog.  Commenting on Greg’s article: IIoT Performance Metrics: Friend or Foe?  Vince referred to W. Edwards Deming’s writing (Out of the Crisis (The MIT Press) by W. Edwards Deming, 1982) that the most important measures are unknown and unknowable. Vince added: “in the current world where because we have so much information at our fingertips, we assume we can."
